The Standing Desk Six Week Update

Not too long ago, I made the decision to switch to a standing desk.  It’s been about 6 weeks since I made the transition.  Here’s what I’ve learned.

  • Standing all day hurts, no matter what.
  • I’m in enough meetings that when I am at my desk, standing feels really good.
  • I found myself wanting to stand in social situations.  This can be kinda awkward.

I also have a theory that I haven’t gotten sick this year because my blood is circulating more vigorously.  A few colds have tried to sneak in, and I can feel them coming on, but then they’re vanquished by standing.

I realize that’s bogus, but I’m sticking with it for now.  Here’s to not jinxing myself.
